JFCC Media briefing on Electric Vehicle

Thu, 1 Feb 2024

Dear JFCC members and friends,

Indonesia has a dream to put hundreds of thousands of electric vehicles on the roads by 2030, offering an alternative to the world’s largest producer China.

Sales rose sharply last year as the performance and cost of electric vehicles improves and Indonesia hopes that trend continues, capitalising on the world’s largest nickel reserves that can be used for batteries to jumpstart its domestic industry.

But there remain questions around the price of EVs, new brands in the market and charging stations.

Rachmat Kalmuddin, deputy minister at the coordinating ministry for maritime and investment affairs will give a briefing on Jakarta’s ambitions for the sector and future plans.

Please join us for a lively discussion on the electric vehicle sector in Indonesia.
