Ibu Ira Pramudita has been an invaluable and much-loved member of The Australian’s Jakarta bureau since 2019, organising travel, managing petty cash, reconciling expenses, wrangling visas, renewing leases, paying staff and fixers and generally keeping everything running smoothly in sometimes rough waters.

We sincerely regret that cost-cutting measures and the downsizing of our bureau operations mean her role is being eliminated.
